FSMB President and CEO Recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare

WASHINGTON, D.C.– The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) is proud to announce that Humayun Chaudhry, DO, MACP, President and CEO of FSMB, has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare in 2022

This prestigious recognition program acknowledges and honors individuals who are deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the most influential figures in the industry in terms of leadership and impact.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to be on this list, in solidarity with the thousands of individuals who work at our nation’s state medical boards to protect the public and advance quality health care,” said Dr. Chaudhry. “Particularly in these uncertain and challenging times, I am happy to accept this unique honor on behalf of myself, the FSMB, our board of directors and our 160 employees. We will remain tireless in our efforts to support our member boards through our services (e.g., USMLE, FCVS, PDC), communications, education, engagement, research, data integration, Journal of Medical Regulation, state and federal advocacy, domestic and international collaboration and policy guidance as our boards license and regulate the practice of medicine across the United States.”

A graduate of New York University, New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Dr. Chaudhry is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. He is a Master of the American College of Physicians and a Past President of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. He has been President and CEO of the FSMB since 2009.

“It is an honor to have Dr. Chaudhry represent FSMB and the nation’s state medical boards on this year’s list,” said Sarvam TerKonda, MD, Chair, FSMB Board of Directors. “His leadership at FSMB has led to an elevated awareness about the critical role that physician licensing and discipline play in healthcare delivery and patient protection.”

“The FSMB Foundation congratulates Dr. Chaudhry and FSMB on this well-deserved honor,” said Janelle Rhyne, MD, MACP, President, FSMB Foundation. “Under Dr. Chaudhry’s leadership, FSMB continues to find innovative ways to enhance and support the work of state medical boards, and the FSMB Foundation is proud to assist in those efforts.”
